2011 Summer Intensive Ballet Workshops

Our Summer Intensive Ballet Workshops provide talented dance students in our central Oklahoma area the opportunity to take daily classes in ballet technique and pointe (at the appropriate age), and through our Enrichment Series attend seminars and museums, watch great dance films, make crafts and broaden their dance knowledge in a fun and creative environment!  Students progress quickly in the challenging and enjoyable atmosphere with other young dancers!  
This summer, the Red & Blue Level dancers will have the opportunity to study with Guest Teachers: Paul Boos, New YorkCity Ballet, Mellanie Heskett, Ballet West, Marilyn Gaston, Baltimore Ballet,and  Charlotte Hart, Oklahoma Festival Ballet.  These inspiring teachers will share their expertise, passion & love of ballet with the students.  Each of these teachers has so much to offer the students AND they also know how to make learning fun!!!!

Yellow Level – For Level I & II students aged 8 & older
Green Level –For children 10 years & older with previous ballet experience
Red Level – Children 11 years & older with a minimum of 3 years ballet class
Blue Level – Dancers ages 13 or older with a minimum of two years of pointe work

Yellow Level
June 6-17
Monday through Friday
2:30-4:30
Tuition $250*
Primary Level Ballet Class for Children ages 8 & older
The Yellow Level is for children ages 8 & older who are ready to begin
 Ballet II classical ballet technique.  Emphasis is placed on teaching the children the basics of ballet in a positive & enjoyable atmosphere.  This class is also for children ages 8 & older who are ready to begin their formal ballet training for the first time. 
Activities include ballet class each day, enrichment sessions about ballet stories and dancers, as well as crafts (props) relating to the ballets the students learn about. A light snack will be provided.
 *Includes registration, supplies fees & snack.  A deposit of $125 will reserve your child’s space in class. .  All tuition and deposits are non-refundable.

 

Green Level
June 6-17
Monday through Friday
4:30-6:30
Tuition $250*
 For children ages 10 & older with previous ballet training
The Green Level is for children ages 8 & older who have had previous ballet training.  Emphasis is placed on improving the students’ ballet technical skills, as well as increasing their ballet vocabulary of steps.  Positive reinforcement and encouragement makes this learning experience enjoyable & fun for all of the young dancers! 
Students at this level find that participation in the summer workshop reinforces all of their ballet class work from the previous school year, both mentally & physically.  It enables them to not only maintain their skill level, but to actually advance more rapidly!
Activities include ballet technique class, enrichment sessions, learning a dance from a classical ballet, and crafts (props) relating to the ballet. A light snack will be provided.
*Includes registration, supplies fees & snack. A $125 deposit will reserve you child’s place in class.  All tuition & deposits are non-refundable.



Red Level
June 20 –July 15
Monday through Friday
10:30 AM-3:45 PM
Tuition for the Red Level:
4 weeks - $750*

(suggested ages 11 & up with a minimum of 3 years of ballet experience )
Sample Schedule:
10:30 – 12:00     Ballet Technique Class
12:45-1:30          Pre-Pointe/Pointe
1:30-2:15            Enrichment Session with Guest Teacher/ film & discussion
2:15 – 3:45        Ballet Technique Class

*Includes registration, museum admission & supplies fees
A deposit of $250 is due by April 10 and the balance is due by June 5.
All deposits, fees & tuition are non-refundable.

Blue Level
June 20-July 15
 Monday through Friday
1:30-7:00
Tuition for the Blue level:
4 weeks - $750*
Sample Schedule:
                 1:30-2:15  Enrichment Session with guest teacher/ film & discussion
                 2:15 – 3:45   Ballet Technique Class
                 4:00 – 5:30   Pointe & Variations / Character Class
                 5:40- 7:00     Ballet Technique
